AMATEUR SCI-FI PARODY CHALLENGES HOLLYWOOD

Seven years in the making, the Finnish sci-fi parody STAR WRECK: IN THE
PIRKINNING will be released on October 1 for free distribution on the
Internet, at www.starwreck.com.

The feature-length movie tells the thrilling story of spaceship captain Pirk, who
declares himself Emperor and brings the entire world under an iron
fist. His lust for power and lebensraum take him all the way beyond the
universe and into a parallel reality, where he finds himself at odds
with Commander Sherrypie and his space station. The showdown of the
century begins.

Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning is the product of a core group of five,
headed by producer/visual effects supervisor/lead actor Samuli
Torssonen. The team includes talented amateurs and a handful of
professionals, including Kari Väänänen from the motion picture Amazon.
The movie has received the acclaim of both audiences and critics.

In the Pirkinning is the stand-alone sixth installment in the movie
series Star Wreck, available on the Internet, created by producer
Samuli Torssonen. What makes the movie special are the gorgeous visual
effects, original sense of humor, and free Internet distribution. This
has given it viewers around the world, and even given rise to fan-made
spin-off short films. The movie will be released with English subtitles.
